States that despite being released from the debt against him, he is still held in prison because of jail fees owed. Urges that these do not apply to him, under recent act of parliament to abolish jail fees. Truth of petition certified by George Spaight, local inspector of Cavan jail, who states that he believes that Hunter is still liable to pay jail fees, 22 August 1821. Petition of the president and assistants instituted for the relief of the poor and for punishing vagabonds and beggars for County Wexford, to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, concerning the legislation directing financial support of the lunatic asylum, and the refusal of the grand jury to grant the usual presentments. Without additional funds, 'Your memorialists will be under the painful necessity of discharging all the Idiots & Lunatics, several of whom are in a deplorable state of Derangement, closely confined, nor can they be suffered out to air, nor be in their Cells, without the strait Waistcoat, and if discharged will be a terror to the Country'.
