Letter from Laurence Parsons, 2nd earl Rosse, Parsonstown [Birr], King's County [County Offaly], to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, 25 June 1823, enclosing petition of John O'Brien, Rahan Lodge, King's County, magistrate, to Richard Wellesley, 1st marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, referring to the damage caused to valuable tracts of land from the Clodio and Silver rivers, 'being choked up by the accumulation of Sand'. Requests, on his own behalf and that of other landowners in the area, government assistance for a public works scheme. Refers to their former petition on the subject, emphasising that the landowners are ready to expend their own money towards the work, as required by the public works legislation, June 1823. |

Twopeny, acting for the prosecution in the case against Donnelly, details the circumstances of the case, and requests that Donnelly's children, in attendance at Essex Street school in Dublin, are examined as witnesses in the case, and the copies of their testimonies forwarded to Twopeny, 2 June 1823.
