Letter from Stephen Rumbold Lushington, Treasury Chambers, London, joint secretary to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, forwarding a copy of a list of the London prices charged for a variety of superfine and second papers, for the period from 5 April 1822-5 July 1822, and additionally from 5 July-5 October 1822. Lushington refers to the information being used to assist in 'the regulation of the King's Stationer in Dublin' [Sir Abraham Bradley King]. The list of prices originally signed by Christopher Magnay and Sons, and by Jones, Wiggins and Company, both wholesale stationers in London. With subsequent annotation on Lushington's letter, by Goulburn, issuing instruction to 'Forward [the list of prices] to Sir A B King for his guidance'. |

Letter from Dr George Renny, Army Medical Office, Dublin, director general of hospitals and chief of the Army Medical department, to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, Dublin Castle, reporting on his inquiry into the facts of a recent case submitted to government, 'the papers concerning which had been mislaid', 2 January 1823. Renny encloses a letter, with covering wrapper, from William Kingsley, Roscrea, County Tipperary, surgeon, to Dr Francis Barker, 22 Bagot Street, Dublin, secretary to the General Board of Health, answering Barker's queries respecting the case of the widow and children of the late Dr Hargrove of Roscrea, reporting that he died of typhus fever in July 1822. The information is certified by Reverend Thomas L'Estrange, Church of Ireland rector of Roscrea, and Dr John Birch, 1 January 1823. With subsequent annotation on Renny's letter, by Goulburn, instructing that the family are recommended for a civil list pension. |
