Letter from Lawrence Parsons, 2nd earl of Rosse, Parsonstown [Birr], King's County [County Offaly], joint Irish Post Master General, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, referring to 'much public dissatisfaction' following changes made by Sir Edward Smith Lees, secretary to the Irish Post Masters General, in the delivery of English letters through the Irish GPO. Rosse emphasises that the changes were made 'without any previous communication with me', and notes his efforts to induce Lees to abandon them.
