File of correspondence regarding the allocation of the regium donum to the congregation of Clough, County Down, contested by the General Synods of Ulster and of Antrim. Includes correspondence between Francis Dill, Presbyterian Minister of Clough [by the Synod of Ulster], Robert Parke, Moderator, General Synod of Ulster, Rev George Hay, Londonderry, Sir Francis Leveson Gower, [Chief Secretary], William Gregory, [Under Secretary] and Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke Northumberland, [Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Dublin]. Dill’s memorial claiming his position and payment also include a statement signed by magistrates Michael Skinner and John G Dunbar, County Down; Hay’s letters inform the government of the contested congregation and the nomination by the other party of [Rev] Watson.
