Memorials of Rev John Bridge, minister of the Presbyterian Congregation of Castlecaulfield, [County Tyrone], to Henry William Paget, Lord Lieutenant, claiming that he has incurred the displeasure of the Orange Order on account of his sermon to his congregation warning them not to implicate themselves in the numerous murders and beatings which have occurred regularly in his area; recounting in detail his suspicions on the murder of Thomas McCroary for which George Richey was arrested and executed and his attempts to get witnesses to provide information to magistrates; noting how he has been intimidated and assaulted by supporters of Richey, many wearing orange emblems, outside his meeting house.
