Letter from George Hay, Londonderry [Derry], to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, reporting on a meeting of presbyterians in Belfast, called by the moderator of the synod, at which it was alleged that government had not attended to certain memorials from the synod on behalf of some newly established presbyterian congregations. Adding that he objected to the insinuation of a lack of confidence in Goulburn and instead persuaded the meeting to write to Goulburn pressing him on the need to grant a royal bounty to the new congregations. Adding that he feels it his duty to provide early intimations to government on any proceedings at the Synod of Ulster.
